CU in december

here's a couple that i snapped quick this last week. I know it's been a while since updating, and i have a huge back-log of pictures to work on and post (including my trip to Peru this last summer). But this is it for now. I'm heading out of town for 6 weeks tomorrow, so I'l be away from my library of photos, so don't expect much before then.

Some More

This first one was a nice exposure taken during a sunrise sometime early last spring. It was the morning of a final at school (which explains why I was awake at that time of the day, as I'd been up all night studying...). I like the way it borders on a HDR photo, but it was done with just one exposure (no compositing).

The other 3 photo's were taken this past spring when a few friends and myself went out hunting (with our dSLR's mind) for sandhill cranes. We found a really sweet spot down near Ft. Kearney, NE for the sunset picture.

More Taiwan

Long Time Since

it's been a good long time since I've updated pictures here. I've continued to take some for the most part, I just haven't been getting them up here. I have a lot of new material to post once I've got time (like my trip to Peru for starters...). But that's getting ahead of myself, as I haven't worked with any of those photo's yet.

so i'll get a few more up of taiwan, and some other random ones. and then soon, I'll get the photos from Peru up here.

cheers,

New 35L Lens

so i picked up a new lens. It's a (prime) Canon 35mm 1.4L, and although i didn't have long to play, i did get a chance to try it out. I'm quite impressed with it. Here's a couple shots from it.

Taiwan Five

get 'em while they're hot.

Taiwan Four

Taiwan Three

i'll be putting up some more pictures from Taiwan now. These were shot in Tainan City.

Statues on the Winnebago Res.

here's a few shots of some really cool statues on the Winnebago Reservation in Eastern NE.

A couple of bird shots

i was up about near the Omaha and Winnebago reservations when we saw a couple of bald eagles. luckily for me, i had my telephoto lens, and was able to take a few shots as it flew around. i'm not usually much into nature photography, but after looking at the eagle in flight, i might try my hand at it again.

No Title- get over it already

The B&W is the first photo i took with the 70-200. Very, very pleased with the lens. worth the money, and that's saying something if you know what those things go for...

The other is just a shot down Douglas street. you can see Iowa off in the background. taken with the cheapest lens Canon sells, the 50 1.8 II. it may be inexpensive, but it's probably my favorite lens.

Downtown Views

a couple different views of Omaha. take a peek if you like such things.

Soldier

another great quality of this lens (70-200) is the great bokeh (intentional out of focus areas). creamy smooth and quite pleasing. another huge plus for one of the best lenses Canon makes.

zoom time

taken around memorial park. playing around with the tele end of the fantastic Canon 70-200 f2.8L. the pictures that come out of this lens are as sharp as a good prime lens. unreal.
